Tidal Weightlifting Hong Kong, is an olympic weightlifting gym, specialising in a particular style of heavy lifting, that uses loaded barbells. We created a mythology behind the brand, inspired by the greek and roman gods to build an iconic theme and adaptable aesthetic. I designed Poseidon as a formidable man, with a wild beard, and loaded barbell in place of his traditional trident to channel his tidal power. This logo became the central fixture of Tidal Weightlifting’s interior design, and carried seamlessly through to their digital presence and marketing collateral. We chose the power of Poseidon, God of the Sea, as this brand’s key symbol to encourage supernatural strength and to glorify the act of lifting heavy.
